The company was established in 1990 and spearheaded by MedRite, the first multi-facility/specialty based transcription system. This was the first of a long list of innovations, to mention a few: DigiScribe, first network-based dictation system (1995); DigiPlayer, first MicrosoftTM Windows based professional transcription solution (1997); Crescendo Wide Area Service, IP-based gateway for increase transcription security (2003).

Throughout the years, Crescendo products have been consistently enhanced through customer feedback by the R&D team of 15. A strong believer in open source technology and a pioneer in healthcare IT integration, Crescendo was appointed as the first international HL7 member back in the early 1990's. This 17-year expertise has already enabled 2,000 healthcare installations around the world to efficiently manage a growing volume of documentation and achieve the multi-site and system integrations that are so critical to the quality of patient care.

Crescendo is a privately held company that owns 100% of its source code. Headquartered in Laval, Canada, Crescendo now serves six countries through its branch offices (Canada, US, UK) and authorized resellers (US, Australia, the Netherlands, China and South Africa).
