4.0 Editorial policies
As part of HealthTech Wire's effort to distribute news releases free of errors, we have introduced strict editorial guidelines.
4.1 Source verification
Upon receipt of a news release, a member of the HealthTech Wire will call the company issuing the news release at the phone number listed in our account database. A known contact at the company will verbally verify that the company sent in the news release and will confirm the news release in question. News releases are not issued until this verification process is completed.
If the member is a public relations or investor relations agency, they will provide HealthTech Wire with the name of the client who is the source of the information. The representative at the agency must be known to HealthTech Wire and authorized to send news releases for agency clients.
If a news release is received from an individual who has not been identified as an authorized sender, HealthTech Wire will contact an authorized sender to verify the legitimacy of the individual.
4.2 Review process
HTW's editorial review includes:
- Checking the accuracy of the entire file from header to tag line and all material that has been input by HealthTech Wire.
- Identifying any errors, discrepancies, inconsistencies or other irregularities in the material as it was delivered to us. No substantive change will be made without the approval of the originator of the news release. If the member refuses to correct a clear error, the news release should not be transmitted - HealthTech Wire will not knowingly transmit an error. If the change is only a suggestion or opinion, the client's wishes shall prevail.
