Nation’s top hospitals overwhelmingly select Sentillion’s identity & access management solutions

Published: 08/13

ANDOVER, MA, USA - (HealthTech Wire) - Healthcare organizations across the United States continue to overwhelmingly select Sentillion as their Identity & Access Management (IAM) vendor.  In Q2 2008, Sentillion signed new customers across its suite of identity and access management products for single sign-on (SSO), clinical workstations, user provisioning and virtualized remote access, resulting in 152,400 new user licenses. The organizations that selected Sentillion’s IAM solutions for enterprise-wide implementations range from single facilities to large, complex, multi-site health systems, including:

  • The Methodist Hospital System (Houston, TX)
  • Presbyterian Hospital Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM)
  • Summa Health System (Akron, OH)
  • University of Pennsylvania Health System (Philadelphia, PA)
  • University of Rochester Medical Center (Rochester, NY)

“Our number one goal is providing a fast and secure way for our caregivers to access the applications and patient information they need to deliver the best care possible,” said Michael Restuccia, vice president and Chief Information Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.  “We selected Sentillion because of its proven track record with our primary applications Eclipsys, Siemens, IDX and Epic, its integrated SSO, context management and provisioning suite, and that the solutions are based on an open, scalable and flexible architecture.”

In addition to its new customers, Sentillion received 72 add-on contracts from its existing install base.  Several customers decided to expand their implementations enterprise-wide while others deployed additional solutions from Sentillion such as Tap & Go™.    For example, multi-facility, integrated delivery network (IDN) care provider, Cottage Health System in Santa Barbara, Calif., who uses Sentillion’s Vergence clinical workstation solution to integrate CPOE, EHR, PACS and other applications across three facilities, upgraded to an enterprise license.  With Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager™ and Sunrise Critical Care at the center and a combination of user provisioning, single sign-on, context management and stronger authentication from Sentillion, Cottage has been able to improve workflow, security, compliance and access across the organization.

“As evident by the addition of new customers and expanded relationships, Sentillion is the de facto identity and access management solution for healthcare,” said Rick Dean, vice president of North American sales for Sentillion. “Regardless of whether an organization is just starting to implement a user provisioning or SSO solution or it is furthering its IAM strategy, Sentillion sits at the intersection of all this because we  offer the complete package - expertise, reliability and innovative technology.”

Sentillion’s IAM solutions are the most widely deployed in healthcare and are used daily by more than 350,000 caregivers in 644 unique hospitals across North America and the United Kingdom, including Eisenhower Medical Center, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sisters of Mercy Health System, Sharp HealthCare and Texas Children’s Hospital.  Sentillion is responsible for the largest SSO deployment in healthcare and is the only vendor that has worked with over 600 business and clinical applications, including those from Cerner, Eclipsys, Epic, McKesson, MEDITECH, Microsoft, Lawson, Oracle and Siemens.
