New software from Grundig Business Systems streamlines dictation management

DigtaSoft and DigtaSoft Pro in version 4.2 designed to increase efficiency in modern firms
Published: 11/19
CHICAGO, IL, USA - (HealthTech Wire / News) - Grundig Business Systems, one of the world's leading suppliers of professional dictation systems, today announced the North America launch of DigtaSoft and DigtaSoft Pro 4.2 – the new versions of the company’s voice processing solutions. The software has been equipped with new features that streamline workflows in large dictation networks and improve the user experience during dictation and transcription. By optimizing communications between the computer and the Digta CordEx, the first cordless professional dictation microphone, users are presented with a highly convenient dictation recording device. Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) has been introduced to simply the integration of user data during large-scale roll-out. The “Deadline Workflow” function indicates secretaries by when a document is needed to be finalized, thus supporting work planning and a stress-free working environment. Grundig Business System’s customers can upgrade for free to the new software by downloading it from this website: www.grundig-gbs.com/us/software.
“One of our objectives was to ensure the seamless and fast roll-out of DigtaSoft, even in large-scale implementations”, said Chris Hanley, Grundig Business System’s Sales Manager for North America. “By supporting LDAP Grundig Business Systems now makes the implementation of dictation networks a breeze and significantly reduces the burden on IT management. User data can be automatically imported into the dictation system, for example from e-mail programmes and existing profiles can be transferred to the dictation network easily and without unnecessary administrative effort.”
A newly added DSS channel uses advanced audio compression to transmit data from the wireless Digta CordEx dictation device to the PC. As a result users are presented with uninterrupted, clear sound recordings while having the freedom to conveniently move around within a 26 feet radius from the docking station.
Another new feature aimed at supporting authors and transcriptionists in delivering timely documents is the “Deadline Workflow”. Using this application, authors can assign a deadline to every dictation, thus advising transcriptionist when the transcribed text has to be made available in its final form. Time-critical projects - for example pending court cases or patient discharges – are now clearly identified and transparently displayed, to help ensure reliability and quality of service.
Another time-saving improvement is the dialog window “close”, by which the user can delete dictations directly. During every dictation the software saves the playback position and the original author in the dictation header of the file. Completed dictations can be automatically archived in the new archive box by clicking the button “finished” and then quickly transferred to the overall workflow.
DigtaSoft and DigtaSoft pro are immediately available for download at www.grundig-gbs.com/us/software. Some of the features described in this document are only available with the Pro version.
